Latente

Latent | adj.
Line breaks: la¦tent

1. (Of a quality or state) existing but not yet developed or manifest; hidden or concealed.

---

Latent is an editorial object of intimate character, it's one's self exposed, analysed and represented by what it is, in the purest of forms. It derives from the need to want to unravel, want to know and, above all, want to find out. As a basis, the work of Sophie Calle, french photographer, known for her voyeurism, the photographer of the unknown, of passersby.

It is divided into three parts. Firstly, the life and work of Sophie Calle, her work is presented as a basis for analysis and case study. Then, "Sleeping people", assumed as a re-appropriation of the "Sleepers", by Sophie Calle, the project which she became known for. Finally, "Strangers on a train," a photographic essay on people sleeping in public transportation.

"Sleeping people", is a collection of about eighty photos, of eleven people, taken while they slept. All photos were taken with due consent, none of which was staged.
